Record the device, OS version, and Happ, network type, time, and selected recording. Stop downloads, updates, video calls, and file syncing. On Wi-Fi, stay in one place during all comparisons.
Do not compare the result of home Wi-Fi with mobile Internet as two dimensions of the same server without explanation: these are different networks and conditions.
Run a series of checks
Use the current version of Happ's native latency measurement action. Perform not one, but several consecutive measurements with a pause. Write down the values without choosing only the best result.
If the app shows N/A, it's not a high ping. Use a separate instruction on the status of N/A. The exact order of the verification button must be confirmed on a real device before publishing.
Compare multiple servers
Check several available records from the same current subscription under the same conditions. A lower value may be more convenient for latency-sensitive tasks, but a single ping is not the fastest or most stable server.
Once selected, take a practice test to open the website or use the app you want. Instructions for choosing a server can be found on the page "How to choose a server in Happ".
Check the source network
Disable Happ and evaluate the stability of the regular Internet. If Wi-Fi loses packets or the signal is weak, the measurement through Happ will also be unstable. Get closer to your router, unplug and reconnect Wi-Fi, then repeat the series of tests.
Compare a different network without changing servers. If the latency is significantly different, save the results of both series. Don't infer the cause from a single jump.
Eliminate device load
Close background downloads, cloud sync, and apps that are actively using the network. Check to see if any system updates are being installed. On a low-end device, high CPU usage can also affect the responsiveness of the application, although high ping alone cannot prove this.
Restart Happ and repeat the test after the device stabilizes.
Distinguish latency from low speed
High ping is manifested by a delayed response: pages or actions do not start executing immediately. Slow speed means slow transfer of a large amount of data. These indicators can change independently.
If the problem is slow loading, use the about the slow speed of Happ. If the results vary greatly from measurement to measurement, skip to material About Unstable Speed.
Check the result after changing the recording
- Record the three initial measurements.
- Select another available entry.
- Take three measurements under the same conditions.
- Check the site or app you want to use.
- Go back to the original record for a control measurement.
This order reduces the impact of random network changes and provides a reproducible comparison.
If it doesn't help
Prepare a table with time, network, three dimensions for the two records, and a practical result. Do not specify personal server addresses. If high ping is observed on all records and two networks, attach this data to the request to the Happ Plus support.
Frequently Asked Questions
What ping is considered normal?
There is no universal value for all networks and tasks. Compare multiple records under the same conditions and verify that the application is working in real life.
Is the server with the lowest ping always the fastest?
No. Ping shows latency, and the speed of data transfer depends on other factors as well.
Why is ping constantly changing?
It can be affected by your current network, Wi-Fi signal, background downloads, and route. You need a series of measurements, not a single number.
