Prepare the same conditions

Use one device, one network, and one location when using Wi-Fi. Stop updates, cloud syncing, file downloads, and video streaming on other devices if possible. Record the time, OS version, and Happ.

Do not compare the result on home Wi-Fi without Happ with the result over a mobile network with Happ. In such a test, two conditions change at the same time.

Measure the source network

Disable Happ and run multiple checks in the same way. Record all results, not just the highest value. Also check the normal loading of the site or file that you use in your work.

If the original network is already unstable or slow, restore it first. A weak Wi-Fi signal and the load on your home network will also affect your Happ connection.

Repeat the test with Happ

Plug in a single record and wait for the interface to be steady. Run the same series of checks on the same device. Don't switch apps or trigger additional downloads between dimensions.

Ping and speed are different indicators. Low latency does not guarantee high data transfer speeds. If the main problem is a delay in reaction, use the article About High Ping.

Compare another record

Select another available record from the same current subscription and repeat the test. Don't call the option "the fastest" by a single dimension. Compare a series of results and the practical work of the desired site or application.

The selection procedure is described in the guide "How to choose a server in Happ". If one option is noticeably different, temporarily use a more stable one and save the test data.

Check another network

Without changing the selected entry, compare the second Wi-Fi network or mobile connection. If only one network is slow, check its signal, boot, and settings separately. Do not change DNS and routing at the same time as you change your network.

If the results constantly jump in the same conditions, continue according to the instructions About Unstable Speed.

Check Connection Mode

If the slowdown started after switching the TUN, system proxy, or routing rules, return to the last working mode and try the test again. The availability of these features varies by platform.

Do not copy settings from another operating system. Before publishing, the editors must check each described mode in the current interface.

How to Confirm Improvement

  1. Perform three initial measurements without Happ.
  2. Take three measurements with the first entry.
  3. Repeat the series with the second entry.
  4. Check the site or app you want to use.
  5. Repeat the control test in a few minutes.

Capture the average picture, not a random best result.

If it doesn't help

Prepare a table with time, network, selected records, and result series for support. Do not specify server addresses and a personal link. Add the Happ version and whether the problem recurs on a different network.

The general procedure for applying is in the article about Happ Plus support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to estimate the speed by ping?

No. Ping shows the latency of the response, not the amount of data transferred per unit of time.

Why does one test show a good result, and the second bad?

Network conditions change. You need a series of measurements without background downloads and with the same parameters.

Should I change my DNS right away?

No. DNS affects name resolution, but it doesn't explain any slow speed on its own. First, localize the symptom.

The names of interface items may differ between the versions of the application and the operating system. Check the current version before changing the settings.
